How to set a Web site price that sells

Sure, we’d all like to get top dollar for every site we sell, but the reality is that it isn’t always possible. If fact, if you set the price too high, there’s a good chance that you may lose the sale because of it. That’s why we encourage you to be more flexible and informed before determining what to charge. Talk to the business owner and find out what his/her Web site needs are. Then, you will have a much better idea of what price to ask for.

A good rule of thumb to follow is to charge $1299 and up for ecommerce and other more sophisticated sites. $1299 and down for local, mom-and-pop shops.

Ask yourself honestly, how much time and energy did you actually spend on the sale. Even if you only pocket a few hundred dollars, the referrals and residuals will keep you way ahead of the game.
